Strandberget Retreat is a cosy seaside cabin for up to 5 guests, located on the island of Korppoo, part of the stunning Turku Archipelago. An idyllic holiday spot for a couple or small family looking to experience the laid back feel of the Finnish islands. Enjoy the quiet and peaceful setting, while taking in the sea views from the window or as you drink your morning coffee on the terrace.
This charming cabin has a living area with fireplace, a kitchen, a sleeping alcove for two people, a sauna with electric stove, a shower (in the sauna) and an outdoor WC. The living area has a sofa bed for two people, plus there is a foldable bed for one.
Outside is a sea-facing terrace and timber decking with outdoor furniture, plus a gas barbecue and a wood grill. Swim in the sea or lounge on the pier with a good book, enjoying the sea air and the sound of the waves. There is a rowing boat if you want to go fishing or exploring the bay area.
Summer events at Korpo /Korppoo island include e.g. the popular annual “Sibelius in Korpo/Korppoo” chamber music days (mid July), and the “Korpo Sea Jazz Festival” at the end of July.
Korpoström archipelago centre, offering exhibitions, cultural activities, an archipelago restaurant, and a grocery shop is 8 minutes away by car.
You reach the cottage by car from the Finland mainland via the Parainen-Nauvo and Nauvo-Korppoo car ferries.
DISTANCES: Sea shore 15 m. Food shop and restaurant, exhibitions and cultural programs (in Korpoström Archipelago Center) 4.5 km. Island church in the Church Village with market place, supermarket, cafeterias, restaurants and shops 10 km. Turku 90 km, Turku Airport 94 km and Helsinki 240 km.

Thank you for a relaxing holiday week on the island of Korppoo…. The cottage is very cute, just perfect for us, lovely rocky shore and cottage close to the sea that we love…. We have swam, fished, got to know the area and just sat in our “living room” outside and admired the archipelago and the sea…

We have had a relaxing holiday week. The weather was on our side and we have enjoyed relaxing in the sun, having saunas and swimming. We saw a white-tailed eagle, a deer with babies in the yard and a fox. The cottage is very cosy and we had everything we needed.

Strandberget Retreat was a great “base” for many excursions. We got to enjoy fine weather and great views, starting from the cottage shoreline. We spotted 15 different bird breeds by the shoreline + heard some others. Very successful holiday week!

We had a wonderful time in this small paradise hidden in the Finnish forest. Morning baths in the cold sea water, lazy breakfasts with a splendid view, the best private “television” of wild nature: eagles, swans, herons… Plenty of sun, boat trips, walks in the forest, far from the crowd and noise of everyday life. It was more than we could imagine. Thank you Krister for your huge generosity, helpful advices, on every topic and friendly attitude. We will think about you very warmly from Poland and Slovenia. We spent 4 days here celebrating our 28. anniversary and 37 years since our engagement. Such a lovely place, where you can admire the views indefinitely. The weather was good and we enjoyed warmth and sun shine. Sauna, swimming, barbecuing and fishing were in our programme. Caught fish was guaranteed, thanks to the local supermarket. Big thanks to the owners!

We spent lovely and relaxing two weeks at Krister’s lovely cottage. We spent a lot of time just admiring the views. We experienced Korppoo Jazz and saw the Putin exhibition in Turku. I was surprised how well we could cycle here along nature trails and sandy roads.

We leave this place very relaxed. This is really a place to forget all about how it goes on in 2022. We had a good time in this very fine place – enjoyed every sunset, swimming, boat, hiking or just sitting on the veranda until the dark night… We are back after 2003 and will be back again for sure!

The views were great! Everything was nearly perfect, the only negative was mosquitoes! 🙁 Lovely warm water and nicely humid sauna. It was fun to add forest and tar scented drops to the sauna water. A swan came up to the pier with her baby. We might have also spotted a stork / white-tailed eagle! Did not have time to use the boat 🙁 PS. We did not see any snakes! 🙂
