Nikolai’s cottage

A traditional Finnish timber cottage for up to 4 people, which has been thoughtfully renovated and furnished to preserve its character and country charm. Located in the south-west of Finland and just a short drive to the sea, this would make an excellent base to explore part of the Baltic coast and make day trips to local towns and cities. This atmospheric holiday home would suit a couple but can also accommodate two extra guests on the sofa bed. The cottage has an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area with brick fireplace. There is a double bedroom and a spacious sauna with wood-burning stove and a shower. The property has a composting WC inside, plus another WC in the yard.

When you step outside the sauna there is a large terrace where you will find outdoor furniture and a handy gas grill. There is also a spacious barbecue shelter with a wood grill nearby. Bicycles can be borrowed from the owner and a portable hot tub can be hired for an additional charge, subject to availability. The city of Pori is just a 30 minute drive away, and a little further down the coast is the wooden town of Old Rauma, a UNESCO world heritage site and well worth a visit. Cafe-restaurant 4km (in Lankoski), supermarket (in Merikarvia) 9km, Krookka harbour 10km, Pori 40km, Yyteri beach, Kallo lighthouse and Reposaari island 42km, Kristiinankaupunki 62km and Old Rauma 90km.
