Mikko is a cosy lakeside cabin for 4+2 guests, located in an idyllic island setting near Hankasalmi in Central Finland. Access is however possible in a car via roads and there is no need to travel by ferry. The setting is extremely peaceful and there are no close neighbours at all.
The cabin has a cosy kitchen with electric hobs, a microwave, small electric table top oven, fridge-freezer, coffee maker and a traditional wood-heated oven. The wooden dining table has room for up to 5 people to dine together, while there are also two arm chairs, TV and a fireplace for enjoying glowing log fires.
There are two cosy bedrooms downstairs, one of which has a double bed, while the other has twin beds. The sleeping loft upstairs has two additional mattress beds on the floor. The cabin also has a WC and a balcony. Baby bed and high chair are available by prior request.
Outside, there is a small terrace where you can dine outdoors while enjoying lovely lake views. Have a fun family barbecue taking advantage of the lovely barbecue shelter, or go fishing or exploring the lake with your own rowing boat. There is also a lovely lakeside sauna, that includes a shower in the steam room and a small separate sitting area with a fireplace for relaxing after sauna. The lake shore is in its natural state and has large stones scattered here and there.
Spend a sunny day reading a book on your private pier, or hire bicycles from the cabin owners for a ride in the forest or along the nearby country lanes. Canoes, a kayak, an outboard motor and a motorboat are also available to hire for an additional charge.
Golf can be played in the nearby Revontuli golf course from spring to autumn. In winter, try cross-country skiing or enjoy a walk in the snowy woods. Häkärinteet ski resort for downhill skiing is also located nearby.
DISTANCES: Lake shore 30 m, cross-country ski tracks 500 m, nearest neighbour 600 m, Hankasalmi (supermarket, restaurant) 14 km, Häkärinteet ski resort 18 km, Revontuli Golf 18 km, Konnevesi National Park 39 km and Jyväskylä 60 km.

Our holiday was fantastic. The owners were very helpful, the cabin was perfect, the amenities excellent, the location was great. The sauna was the highlight of every day. The children absolutely loved the sauna-lake-sauna experience. We managed to visit friends in Helsinki for a few days and had a day trip to Estonia. All in all, a superb holiday.

The cottage location was excellent. That peace and silence.❤️ Functional cottage and everything necessary was easily found. Some small updating could be beneficial for right price/standard ratio and for enjoying better comforts. But the cottage and the place were on their own exceptional. The most beautiful starry sky on a winter night I have ever seen. Good sauna.
