Mikkilä is a comfortable lakeside cottage for 4+2 guests located amid stunning lakeside scenery in Kannonkoski, Central Finland. The accommodation is conveniently set all on one level and the cottage offers a cosy holiday rental for a couple, family or a group of friends. The cottage has a well equipped open plan kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave oven, electric oven and hobs and a fridge, and there is a sofa, TV and a fireplace for relaxing and spending time together in the evenings. There are two bedrooms, one of which has a double bed, while the other has two separate beds. A WC, changing room, bathroom with a shower and a handy electric sauna are also provided. The sofa bed in the living area offers additional beds for two guests. A baby bed and a high chair are available by prior request.
The terrace outside has a table and chairs, as well as a handy gas BBQ. The distance to the lake shore from the terrace is only about 10 meters. There is a lovely wood heated lakeside sauna (summer use only) in the yard and a pier and a rowing boat for fishing and boat trips by the lake shore. Beautiful lake scenery and the tranquil setting guarantee that your stay will be peaceful and relaxing. Woodland surrounding the cottage allows excellent opportunities for walking and cycling, as well as berry and mushroom picking. A grill hut nearby is also available (100 m). In winter, cross-country ski tracks are provided for skiing in the woods and on the frozen lake. The owner offers fishing rods and bicycles for loan in summer and ice-fishing gear, snowshoes, skis and sledges in winter. A motorboat and an outboard motor are available to hire for an additional charge. Life jackets.

We loved it. So, so tranquil. Mikkilä cabin had everything we needed. The pontoon was a perfect place for reading, sunbathing and watching the very long sunset. The lake was still and clean. There were two saunas, three bbqs, a rowing boat and complete silence, what more could you want? It was the most peaceful relaxing place I have ever been to.

Mikkilä cottage is perfectly equipped, with everything necessary for the stay. It was pleasant that the cottage is separated from other cottages, so didn’t see neighbours, nothing disturbed our rest. The owner was very attentive and kind, lent us bicycles and gave us very sweet strawberries. We will recommend this cottage!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mikkilä. The place was perfect for a relaxing few days in the Finnish countryside, something I would recommend to anyone visiting Finland in summertime. The highlights for us were the two saunas, the wood fired barbecue and the peaceful and secluded lake.
