Kaidan Kunkku is a luxury holiday home for 8+2 people in a secluded lakeside position in Mikkeli, Central Lakeland. This well-equipped cottage provides a high level of comfort and is beautifully decorated.
Accommodation available is set on two levels and the downstairs has a modern kitchen, dining table for 10 people and a living room with fireplace, comfortable sofa and a Smart TV. There are two beautiful double bedrooms, both of which have their own TV and DVD player. Downstairs also has a WC, changing room / utility with a handy fridge for cold drinks after sauna and a spacious bathroom, that has two showers, Jacuzzi and a cold water extreme shower. Sauna can be enjoyed heated both by wood or eletricity.
Upstairs there is a second living room with a large corner sofa, TV and a DVD player for socialising and watching films or TV series together in the evenings. A third bedroom with four single beds and a second WC are also provided. Two extra mattress beds can be placed in the living room, if required.
Baby bed and highchair are available by prior request. Two air source heat pumps for cooling during hot weather.
Outside there is a terrace with outdoor furniture in summer and a handy gas BBQ for cooking all your barbecue favourites. There is also a lovely lakeside terrace for relaxing in warm weather and a pier, as well as a rowing boat for fishing and fun boat trips exploring the lake. A traditional smoke sauna, grill hut and a hot tub can be hired for an additional charge. In winter, hire snowshoes from the owners, or try a traditional kick sledge.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kaidan Kunkku. It was the second time for us. Kaidan Kunkku is very spacious and comfortable. Esko and Leena are very friendly hosts. We cooked a lot and were happy that everything we needed was there. The sauna and hot tub in the house are great too. We enjoyed also the smoke sauna very much. But for us the best thing is the quiet location, the lake and the nature. This year we were very lucky with picking mushrooms. And we spent a lot of time in and on the lake, swimming, relaxing, trying to catch a fish or taking the boat out. We would be happy to come back again.

We traveled to Finland over the New Year and spent a week at the villa. The villa itself is great, it is spacious for 7 people and has a well equipped kitchen for making your own food. The sauna, most likely one of the most important aspects if you are visiting in winter, is great and you can go both with traditional wood heated or convenient electrically heated. The wood stove in the living room is also really cozy and we also enjoyed the amplifier speaker setup, which can also be used at slightly higher volumes as house is in the woods with no neighbors to see close by.
The surrounding landscape is beautiful in the winter (and I would assume in the summer as well). As advertised there is a lake right next to it and we enjoyed a lots of ice bathing while there, in a small ice hole on the lake. Except from that hole the lake was fully walkable when frozen except for inlets and outlets and some other ice holes. Leena and Esko were really nice hosts, pointed us towards the right places to go (you need a car), and with a supermarket a close drive by and Mikkeli about twenty minutes driving, we could find everything we needed.

Our weekend was a success and the accommodation met our expectations. Kaidan Kunkku had enough space to comfortably accommodate two families (9 people). Cottage was well cleaned on arrival and all necessary kitchen equipment was found. Sauna gave us good steam. We were very happy with our weekend in Kaidan Kunkku.

Spacious living area downstairs is good. Smoke sauna excellent add-on. This was our second time staying in this cottage.
