Hevonkuusi is a pretty lakeside log cabin for 4+3 guests, located in a tranquil and beautiful position in Hankasalmi, Central Finland.
Accommodation is set on two floors and there is a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, oven and hobs, microwave, fridge-freezer and a dining table for 6 people downstairs. The spacious living room next to kitchen has a sofa, two arm chairs, TV and a fireplace for enjoying glowing log fires.
There are two comfortable twin bedrooms downstairs, while a sleeping lost upstairs has two single beds and a mattress bed on the floor for one additional person. A WC/shower room and a sauna with a handy electric stove are also provided.
Baby bed and high chair are available by prior request.
Outside, there is a terrace and a traditional wooden garden swing. Have a fun family barbecue taking advantage of the lovely barbecue shelter, or go fishing or exploring the lake with your own rowing boat. There is also a lovely lakeside sauna, that includes a shower and a separate sitting area with a fireplace for relaxing after sauna. The lake shore is in its natural state and has large stones scattered here and there.
Spend a sunny day reading a book on your private pier, or hire bicycles from the cabin owners for a ride in the forest or along the nearby country lanes. Canoes, a kayak, an outboard motor and a motorboat are also available to hire for an additional charge.
Golf can be played in the nearby Revontuli golf course from spring to autumn. In winter, try cross-country skiing on the cabin grounds or enjoy a walk in the snowy woods. Häkärinteet ski resort for downhill skiing is also located nearby.
DISTANCES: Lake shore 30 m, cross-country ski tracks 30 m, Hankasalmi (supermarket, restaurant) 14 km, Häkärinteet ski resort 18 km, Revontuli Golf 18 km, Konnevesi National Park 39 km and Jyväskylä 60 km.

We have enjoyed the stay at Hevonkuusi in the Finnish Lakeland. The nature surrounding was perfect, we have really liked the lake and silence around the cottage. Our kids definitely loved darts!

We just spent 3 days at Hevonkuusi but it was a very nice experience. The cottage is beautiful and the location too. We also had a very good and fast assistance during our stay. Hope to repeat the experience in the future.

We spent two weeks in Hevonkuusi. There everything was great! The weather changed, but it was good anyway.

Place showed wear and tear, kitchen appliances were very old. Light switch for wc/shower room was on the hinges side, which was confusing. Mattresses and pillows were light for sleeping. Beach was stony. It was shallow and stony at the end of the pier, so difficult to go swimming. Dishes were somewhat insufficient – we bought some glasses and knives also for future guests.
Curtains in the bedroom did not darken the room during bright nights. Black out curtains would be appreciated by other guests as well. Shower arrangement was functional in the end, but very odd. We had to dry the whole wc area after showering. Recycling could have been easier and more guidance offered. Good: Kitchen cupboards had room for our own foods. There were enough plates and cutlery, which is rare. Thank you for that.
