Mökki Ilvesjärvi

Mökki Ilvesjärvi is a cosy holiday cabin for 4+4 guests in a tranquil lakeside setting in Virrat, Southern Finland. The accommodation is provided on two levels and would ideally suit a small or a medium sized group. 

The downstairs includes a comfortable living room with arm chairs, TV and a fireplace, while the well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, oven and hobs, fridge, freezer and a traditional dining set. There is a cosy bedroom with a double bed, but twin beds can be arranged, if preferred. A WC, bathroom with shower and a lovely wood-heated sauna are also provided. 

Sturdy wooden stairs lead upstairs, where you will find a sitting area for reading and relaxing, as well as a second double bed, that can also be arranged as twin beds, if preferred. Additional beds are available on a wooden sofabed, that converts to a 160 cm wide bed for two people. One extra portable mattress and a child camp bed are also provided. 

Outside, the cosy terrace is great for dining outdoors or cooling down after sauna. Traditional wood grill by the lake shore allows summer barbecues on an open fire and an outdoor dining set is also provided for dining on the beach while enjoying the lovely lake views. The lake shore also includes a wooden rowing boat, that can be used for fishing or exploring the lake. Extensive cabin grounds allow plenty of room for garden games, recreation and play time for children. 

There is a small village shop in Kotala just 4 km away, while larger supermarkets are available in Virrat town. Ideal day trip destinations in the area include Ähtäri Animal Park, Serlachius manor and art museum in Mänttä-Vilppula, charming old textile factory area with it’s flea markets and museums in Killinkoski and Tuuri Village Shop, which despite it’s name is the largest shopping centre in Finland. In winter, cross-country ski tracks and downhill ski slopes are available in Virrat, but for those who seek larger slopes, popular Himos ski resort in Jämsä can be reached in a car in about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
